As an in-home care platform, Herewith offers a more flexible approach to booking senior care that puts families in control of their care budget.
Instead of a traditional agency model, Herewith empowers you to match with insured, verified local Helpers that work for your budget and schedule.
On Herewith, you get to choose how much you want to pay per hour, and then your Helper’s wage is calculated from your stated budget.
Let’s break it down:
Unlike traditional care agencies that typically include overhead that adds up to 50% in fees on top of the caregiver’s hourly wage, the Herewith service fee is a simple 20% with no hidden charges.
The Herewith service fee gives you access to a full range of trustworthy, ID-verified, background-checked local caregivers, or “Helpers” on the Herewith platform.
Plus you get professional liability insurance coverage and tools that take the stress out of booking and paying for in-home senior care, such as friendly customer support, easy in-app messaging with Helpers, and one-click interview booking.
When you create a Help Request and set your budget, we factor in Herewith’s service fee, so that you don’t have any surprises when it comes time for payment.
For example, if you set your budget to spend $24 per hour, here is the breakdown of the cost:
Budget Estimator for Senior Care Pricing on Herewith
Your senior care budget - $24.00
Helper’s hourly wages - $20.00
Herewith Service Fee - $4.00
Total estimated cost/hour - $24.00
Overall, the cost of booking affordable in-home senior care on Herewith is dependent on the hourly rate you choose. Here are our suggestions for what to take into account when setting your budget:
Tip: To keep in-home care service more affordable, start small with a few hours a week and scale up as care needs evolve.
Additional factors may affect the total cost, such as your local payroll tax rates. Learn more in our resources on employment taxes for caregivers.
On Herewith, families often spend around $20-30 per hour on in-home senior care, but there are many ways for families to keep care costs down.
Remember, unlike most traditional senior care agencies, on Herewith there are no hourly minimums or set schedules—you’ll only be charged for the services that you receive.
At Herewith we pride ourselves on clear, transparent pricing and affordable in-home care costs.
The Herewith service fee is always the same no matter what kind of caregiving services you book, but there are a couple of additional fees to be aware of: a cancellation fee for bookings cancelled without advance notice and an optional fee if you’d like to take advantage of payroll and employment tax support with our partner, HomeWork Solutions.
If your Help Request has not been confirmed and booked with a Helper, you may cancel it at any time.
If you have already confirmed a booking with a Helper, you may cancel at no charge up until 3 hours prior to the scheduled Help Request. If you cancel within 3 hours of the booked request, you may be charged a prorated amount equal to one hour.
If you are hiring a Helper for ongoing care (part-time or full-time), you may wish to opt in to payroll and employment tax support from our partner, HomeWork Solutions.
If you choose to opt in, a one-time setup fee will apply at the time of enrollment, plus a quarterly fee thereafter. Learn more about HomeWork Solutions services and fees here.
